Hello Moos Community!
My name is Mrs. Leong and I am excited to be joining the 6th grade team (Ms. Pertile & Ms. Boyer) for the 2017-2018 school year! This is my third year at Moos and my 12th year teaching overall. I love being a part of the Moos teaching staff and look forward to building new relationships with students and families.

I was born and raised in Michigan and have been in Chicago for the past five years. I live in Humboldt Park with my husband and one year old daughter, Elliott. We love Humboldt Park and some of my favorite things to do are biking on the 606 trail, walking to the park and eating at all the great restaurants!
I graduated from Michigan State University in 2006 with a BA in Interdisciplinary Studies, then moved to Boston to complete a teaching fellowship in the Boston Public Schools. After teaching in Boston and Denver, I moved to Chicago to attend graduate school at DePaul University. In 2016, I received my M.Ed. in Special Education and an ESL endorsement.
I hope to use the knowledge from my education, previous experience and continuing professional development to create an inclusive, universally designed classroom this year! I look forward to many more years of teaching the brilliant students at Moos Elementary!
